Hair Stories: Hot Red Coco

 

Since I can remember I've been attracted to red hair. While I've always had a thing for a knucklehead with a fade and a fresh edge up, you can best believe that the freckled red headed boys on the playgrounds got the business back in the day. To this day I still can't help but compliment a natural Ginger in passing. But the red effect doesn't apply to women, so nevermind my fascination. It has been made clear on red carpets this award show season, that The Side Part a la "Veronica Lake"is the hair of Spring 2013. Recently Kimberly Kimble laid Mrs. Beyonce Carter's hair for her dazzling press conference, giving her a mean side part with volumous curls. I was looking like Sheree Whitfield who rocked a similar style on last seasons #RHOA Reunion when I seen her. But Mrs. Rocha for davidelfin gets a YES!!!! YES!!!! It's no secret that I've had the biggest style crush on Dallas blogger, Nini at ninistyle.com for years. In the blogosphere she is a true style icon in her own right. I recently saw a Rihanna repost from Nini on Instagram I thought "Dope! Rihanna's a fan too, it makes sense." I definitely see a resemblance in their sensibility and fearlessness. So when I saw Rihanna open the show rocking a fresh new cropped 'do and red number at the 2012 MTV VMA Awards, I thought of Nini's recent post featuring her apron top over leather leggings. HOTNESS!!!!!!

Feathered and Festival Ready

March is right around the corner and its only a matter of time before tens of hipsters and hundreds of music artist descend upon our beautiful city and turn it into a beautiful nightmare for and entire week of SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. I'LL BE THERE! In recent years festival goers styles have been and inspiring collections, looks and editorial features in media like style.com, Elle Magazine, and this one on Topshop. I been thinking up my own look and I already planned on getting FEATHERED! This tutorial just solidified the whole look I'm going for, Tribal Warrior of course with a touch of my personal Fresh. I got my jumbo pencils by NYX and my feathers ready! Let's GO!
